Should I dye my hair blonde?

My hair colour is a dark chocolate brown, but all my classmates think it's black because I'm half asian. (they think I'm just asian, not mixed) And I want to dye my hair blonde because I want to change my look but I'm afraid I'll face more racist comments from some of my classmates. I live in a small town so I get the same people in my grade every year. I plan on dying it a week before school starts. What should I do?
